Here at Berwick Youth Project we try year on year to ensure that our priority is to give the young people of Berwick up to date and correct useful information.

One of the ways we do this is by giving our time to various Preparation for Life sessions at Berwick Academy (P4L)

Recently we have offered a session on ‘ Preventing Homelessness’ to the year 13’s at the Academy.

These sessions look at the reality of leaving home, how much it costs, the pitfalls young people come across, the reasons behind leaving the family home and where to go to and who to speak to if you start to struggle with your tenancy.

We feel that our young people need this sort of education to allow them to prepare to leave home and hopefully avoid negative experiences and ultimately becoming homeless.
