Young People compete to ‘get hired’

A group of young people from ‘The Beehive’ here at Berwick Youth Project have taken part in a Young Apprentice Weekend. The weekend, spent at Longhirst Hall, was full of enterprising activities. Three groups from all over northumberland competed to get ‘ hired’ by creating a snack-bar as well as profit forecasts, marketing strategy, tv advert, radio jingle and finally presenting their product to a judging panel.
This all sounds like hard work, which it was, but in between the work each group took part in ‘I’m a young person get me out of here’ tasks to win points for their team.
Berwick’s team didn’t get ‘hired’ this time but the group of 5, Alisha Carmicheal, Paulina Mazurczak, Naomi Rutherford, Chloe Dumble and Rebecca Henderson certainly showed team spirit.
